The Mile-Hi Jeep Club (MHJC) is proud to announce the location and dates for the 2012 All-4-Fun event.
This year is MHJC’s 46th year of providing this event to the off-road community. The 2012 All-4-Fun event is scheduled for July 28 – August 3, and will be hosted by the town of Empire, CO. Empire is located about 30 minutes outside of Denver and very near Central City and Black Hawk so if you get tires of wheeling you can always go and have some fun at the casinos!
Mile-Hi Jeep Club is an active, nonprofit organization with approximately 200 vehicle members who practice and promote responsible and safe 4-wheeling. We are dedicated to helping maintain existing 4-wheel drive roads through our Adopt-A-Road program and by supporting the Blue Ribbon Coalition and the Colorado Off Highway Vehicle Coalition (COHVCO). In addition, MHJC and its members support Stay The Trail and TreadLightly! so future generations of 4-wheeling enthusiasts may enjoy what we have today.
The All-4-Fun event continues to be one of the best family 4-wheeling events in the country, and offers a weeklong family oriented 4-wheeling adventure in the Colorado Rockies. The 4x4 roads and trails around Empire range in difficulty from easy to difficult with the option of a couple of extreme rated trails. Wednesday is set aside as a day of relaxation and a time to visit with the exhibiting vendors. Thursday evening is door prize and raffle night where each paid registered driver has an opportunity to win door prizes provided by the contributing vendors of this event. The proceeds from the All-4-Fun event allows MHJC to continue making annual contributions to Children’s Hospital's Burn Camp, and to land use projects. In 2011, the money raised for Children's Hospital alone was about $12,000, and over the past four years the money raised for land use projects has been approximately $28,000. This allows the MHJC to promote the family orientated experience and expand its dedication to the use of off-highway trails now and in the future.
All-4-Fun locations include places like Empire, Leadville, Silverton and other great cities. There is a fee to attend and registration is required per vehicle family. Plenty of food, drinks and fun occur every year and there's always entertainment to keep you busy. Group trips are available through our rugged mountains. As many as 12 groups leave from camp on Sunday through Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for excursions in the area mountains. Some trips will test your skills as a driver and put your rig through its paces. Other trips can leave you speechless as you view the stunning scenery that the Rocky Mountains give us in our great state.
Wednesday is our annual vendor show with something for everyone. There are games for the kids and even some fun games for the more mature kids, or adults, as some people call'em. There is a great BBQ for lunch and a Show & Shine event to put your rig in if you would like. Prizes are awarded for the Kid's Games and Show & Shine that evening after a BBQ dinner.
Thursday evening we have our big drawings for prizes given to us by our vendors, patrols and some attendees. Raffle tickets are sold each night to help raise money for COHVCO and Children's Hospital's Burn Center. The State Association Vehicle is normally there and tickets are sold for the annual raffle of the rig. There is always some entertaining antics by some groups called Sheites, Pirates and Hoobs. Want to learn more about them? Come and join us to find out what they're all about.
Friday we end up the week with a live band, dinner and dancing. You will not be disappointed in the All-4-Fun event. Come and join us and come to know the great State of Colorado and some of the greatest trail runs in the country. Hope to see you there!
