P13 Greenhorn Run - Argentine Pass

About this event

Just outside of Georgetown are the trails that lead up to Argentine Pass. When I was considering joining the club, this was my first greenhorn run and I immediately fell in love with off-roading.

This is an excellent trail for newer wheelers that will test your skills and comfortability. That said, it is not a difficult trail! Last time I was up there, we watched a 1940s military Willy model make it all the way to the top.

Argentine Pass really does have everything: A good number of hours out on the trail, fantastic views, and a few obstacles.

You're also welcome to bring passengers - just be mindful that they are your responsibility.

First part of the trail: https://www.trailsoffroad.com/US/colorado/trails/369-leavenworth-creek-road-aka-mcclellan-mountain
Which connects to: https://www.trailsoffroad.com/US/colorado/trails/203-argentine-pass
And then we'll be going down: https://www.trailsoffroad.com/US/colorado/trails/8579-historic-waldorf-wagon-road

The plan:
1. Arrive at air down location sometime after 8:30am for the driver's meeting
2. Start Leavenworth Creek Road at 9:00am
3. Take a lunch break at Waldorf Mine
4. Ascend to Argentine Pass (assuming accessible) and spend 10-15 minutes up there
5. Descend Argentine Pass and Historic Waldorf Wagon Road back to the trailhead

What to bring? Food for lunch, plenty of water, your vehicle with a filled tank, and a ready-to-have-fun mindset.
